The Alcohol Report analyses whether the introduction of restrictions or prohibitions on alcohol in Indigenous communities would breach provisions of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975. Specifically, the report considers whether or not restrictions on alcohol provision to Indigenous drinkers amount to a special measure under the RDA.

The Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples was adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on Thursday 13 September 2007. It was adopted with 143 countries voting in favour, 11 abstaining and 4 voting against. Australia was one of the four countries who voted against the Declaration.

Human Rights Commissioner's Report No.6 (April 1998) deals with a complaint concerning the refusal of an application by the complainant for classification as a teacher in Catholic schools. The principal reason for the refusal advanced by the respondent was the complainant’s high profile in an organisation of gay and lesbian teachers and students and her public statements on these issues.
