The Alcohol Report analyses whether the introduction of restrictions or prohibitions on alcohol in Indigenous communities would breach provisions of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975. Specifically, the report considers whether or not restrictions on alcohol provision to Indigenous drinkers amount to a special measure under the RDA.

The Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples was adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on Thursday 13 September 2007. It was adopted with 143 countries voting in favour, 11 abstaining and 4 voting against. Australia was one of the four countries who voted against the Declaration.

This site is being established by the Commission as an initiative to promote provision of Government information in forms which all Australians can use and which comply with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act.
