The Alcohol Report analyses whether the introduction of restrictions or prohibitions on alcohol in Indigenous communities would breach provisions of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975. The Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples was adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on Thursday 13 September 2007. It was adopted with 143 countries voting in favour, 11 abstaining and 4 voting against. Australia was one of the four countries who voted against the Declaration.
